KapiX – Dashboarding tool



Nowadays, working with dashboards in a digitally networked production means a significant simplification of the presentation and evaluation of data and key figures.


Dashboards created with KapiX from Quantis are unbeatable for analyzing data, consumption and conditions in production, as they impress with their clarity of presentation. In addition to the historical representation of the data, it can also be displayed in real time. This means that they are always up to date for the user and reflect the current status of the systems and machines.


The data streams from production plants form the basis for KapiX. The Maintenance Manager can easily generate his individual dashboards himself from a large number of KPIs. The collected and valid data is the prerequisite for this.


For the visualization of the data, KapiX also provides several dashboards as templates for the filling and packaging industry. These can be customized in just a few steps. Here you determine how the data is displayed.


Once the dashboards have been set up, the Maintenance Manager activates notifications that are sent when critical benchmark values are approached. In this way, even when you are not working with the dashboards, you have control over the production plant.


Another advantage of KapiX is the release of the created hierarchy structures. Each user gets the values and data enabled that he really needs to work. This ensures that only authorized persons receive the data assigned to them.


With the dashboards, lifetime and anomaly monitoring of individual components, assemblies, machines and plants is possible. It is also useful to monitor manufactured products and production consumption.


In practice, maintenance managers create their own dashboards. Relevant spare parts are often monitored in order to increase maintenance intervals and thus extend the operating hours of individual components. Each spare part is stored in the dashboard with the corresponding data. When the next maintenance interval is approached, or notification is given that deterioration has occurred, you can check on sight whether the spare part is dirty, or wear has already progressed significantly. On the spot, a decision is made whether the spare part needs to be replaced. In this way, KapiX helps the Maintenance Manager to recognize in which assembly there are increased problems, or which parameters in the measurements need to be adjusted.


The advantage is clear: extending component overhauls saves money. By increasing the operating hours, spare parts are monitored and no longer must to be completely replaced during annual maintenance, as many spare parts can still be used. In concrete terms, the operating hours of system-relevant components were doubled at one customer!


Another example is the monitoring of malfunctions on assemblies or machines by means of dashboards. The Maintenance Manager decides which process data should be recorded and monitored.


For example, pressure, humidity, temperature, fill level or torque are monitored. When limit values are approached, you check on site whether there is a fault and if so, what it is. For example, if the dashboard triggers a notification when the switching times of components change, this can be an indication of problems on the machine. The visual inspection then reveals whether a valve has been tightened too much or the algorithm here is set too finely and needs to be readjusted. In this way, the Maintenance Manager adapts the dashboards to real production conditions and ends up with precise and evaluable data. Unplanned machine failures are thus minimized, increasing the service life of expensive machines.


A third option is to monitor consumption in dashboards. This detects and eliminates compressed air leaks and excessive energy consumption. With energy prices skyrocketing, this helpful dashboard is absolutely necessary in any production environment.

The maintenance manager as well as the production and operations manager know about the problems in their plant or machine and can generate and quickly interpret relevant KPIs for themselves with the help of user-friendly widgets, tachos and heatmaps.
